  • Very true! It’s also vitally important to realize that DMV has no way of knowing whether you are driving your car or not — if it is registered, it needs to be insured! If you won’t be driving for a long period due to vacation, car needing repairs, etc. — you MUST turn in your license plates to cancel your registration before removing insurance. Insurance lapses can get very expensive very quickly and can also lead to the suspension of your driver’s license!
